The reputation of The Culinary Institute of America, like its physical campus, has been built student-by-student and brick-by-brick. With humble beginnings, the CIA opened in 1946 as the New Haven Restaurant Institute, a storefront cooking school in the downtown New Haven, CT, with an enrollment of 50 students and a faculty consisting of a chef, a baker, and a dietitian. The CIA currently enrolls approximately 2,300 students in its Bachelor’s and Associate Degree Programs in Culinary Arts and Baking and Pastry Arts serves 6,000 students from around the world with its continuing education programs, and employs a teaching staff of more than 125 chefs and instructors representing 16 countries.

Tickets for the 19th Annul Cultural Awareness Salute are still available. The Gala will begin at 7pm with a VIP and Cocktail Reception, followed by a multi-course dinner, ending with a Viennese reception and after party beginning at 10pm. Tickets for the dinner are $225 per person ($300 per person for VIP), both include Viennese reception.
